预测文章一 友谊

Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a composition on the topic: What does friendship mean? You should write at least 120 words and you shouldbase your composition on the outline (given in Chinese) below:
1.友谊是人生永恒的主题
2.友谊到底意味着什么
3..友谊的重要性。

What does friendship mean?
There is no definite answer. An eternal theme in literature, friendship is also indispensable in daily life.
Friendship is to our life what salt is to dishes. When you are happy, friendship is just like adding flowers on the brocade; when you are sad, friendship is a dose of consolation; if you are in trouble, friends will surround you and remove the barriers for you; if you have a hard nut to crack, you can turn to friends for help. We admire the great friendship between Marx and Engel, which firmly combined them and pushed them forward on the road to exploring and fulfilling Communism.
Friendship isn't almighty, but no one can live happily without it.

预测文章三 大城市与小城镇

预测文章三
Direction: Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a short essay on the topic Starting Career in a Big City or Small Town? You should write at least 150 words following the outline given below in Chinese:

1. 很多的大学生毕业后留在大城市工作;
2. 也有人选择到小城业生涯;
3. 结合自己的实际情况谈谈自己的想法。

参考范文:

Want to be a small fish in a big pond or the other way round? Every graduate faces this question when he starts his career. Some prefer to stay in the big cities after graduation. To them, big cities mean more experiences, more opportunities to see the big world and more space for career development. At the same time, higher salary is another temptation.

But some other graduates want to start in small towns. Even though there may not be many big companies, they can have a quieter and less competitive life. Another reason is they can be a big fish in a small pond. They can easily get the management’s attention and may win promotion earlier.

As far as I am concerned, I prefer to start in a big city like Shanghai. A good begin is half the battle, and in Shanghai I can find a job in a big company where I can meet people from different places and cultures. I will learn from them what I can not get from textbooks.

预测文章四 读大学的目

1.大学生中许多人把拿到文凭视为学习的目的
2.也有一些人认为大学的学习应以发展个人兴趣和培养特长为目标
3.我的看法

参考范文:
Nowadays, under the new marketing system, students render quite different opinions about the destination of study. Some of them hold that having a diploma is certainly the destination of study in college. They believe that the diploma will guarantee favorable opportunities in the job-hunting campaigns. So their college lives are almost focused on the hooks which help them pursue decent scores in the exams. However, can a diploma be regarded as an equivalent for the success in the future?

Under the new marketing system, quite many college students tend to challenge this belief: it is most important to develop the personal interests and often have every reason to pride themselves on excellent academic achievements in the subjects they take a great interest in, while they may flunk in other courses.

As one of the modern college students, I firmly believe that college is a place where we learn how to learn. We should take best advantage of the chance to learn broadly math, history, and various sciences, not merely for a diploma. On the other hand, it is also  that we take a wide interest in computer, foreign languages or any other practical disciplines rather than just confine ourselves within textbooks so that we could show ourselves as versatile graduates in the future job markets. Only in this way can we keep on learning throughout our lifetime and always keep with the times.

预测文章五 交通安全
Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a short essay entitled Only Stricter Traffic Laws Can Prevent Accidents. You should write at least 150 words following the outline given below.

1. every day, thousands of people died from traffic accident in the world.
2. a.Drivers pay no attention to their driving behavior.
b.the whole society indulgent towards the peace breaker, too much traffic in both the city and the countryside.
3. make laws and regulations to prevent accidents.

参考范文
Only Stricter Traffic Laws Can Prevent Accidents

Though the possibility of living a long and happy life is greater than ever before, every day we cites the incredible slaughter of men, women and children on the roads. Man versus the motor car! It is a never ending battle which man is losing. Thousands of people in the world are killed or horribly mutilated each year and we are quietly sitting back and letting it happen.

It has been rightly said that when a man is sitting behind a steering wheel, his car becomes the extension of his personality. There is no doubt that the motor car often brings out a man s very worst qualities. People who are normally quiet and pleasant may become unrecognizable when they are behind a steering wheel. They are ill mannered and aggressive, willful as two year olds and utterly selfish.

The surprising thing is that society smiles so benignly on the motorist and seems to condone his behavior. Everything is done for his convenience. Cities are allowed to become almost uninhabitable because of heavy traffic; the countryside is desecrated by road networks; and the mass annual slaughter becomes nothing more than a statistic, to be conveniently forgotten.

It is high time a world code were created to reduce this senseless waste of human life. With regard to driving, laws of some countries are notoriously lax and even the strictest are not strict enough. A code which was universally accepted could only have dramatically beneficial effect on the accident rate.

Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a composition of no less than 150 words on the topic “Whether College Students Should Be Allowed to Get Married” and you’re your article on the following outline.

  1. 有些人赞成学生结婚
  2. 有些人反对
  3. 你的观点
Should College Students Be Allowed to Get Married?
There is no denying the fact that it is a hotly debated topic today whether college students should be allowed to get married. Some time ago, the ban was lifted by some universities on students getting married. To this people’s attitudes differ sharply. Some hold the positive view. They say that most college students are adults and that it is a basic right for those who have reached the appropriate ages to get married. Besides, they argue that with their biological and emotional needs met, these students will study better.  The ban on this means a severe violation of human rights.
Many others, however, hold the negative opposite view. They claim that the university or college is a place to study instead of a community to lead family life. Allowing college students to get married would adversely affect their study. For instance, they would spend too much time attending their family and love, unable to concentrate on their school work.
As far as I am concerned, Weighing the arguments of both sides, I believe that it is OK to allow college students to get married. Anyway, this is their freedom. Actually, we don’t have to worry too much because facts have shown that most college students would choose not to get married in the face of such fierce competition and heavy school work.

Directions: In this section, you are asked to write a composition entitled Should people own cars or not? Your composition should be based on the outline given below. Your composition should be at least 150 words.
  Outline:
  1. 有人赞成个人买车。
  2. 也有人持相反观点。
  3. 你的看法。
  4. Should People Own Cars or Not?

There is no denying the fact that it has been a hotly debated topic in China whether people should have their own cars. People’s opinions differ sharply on this issue. Some hold the positive view. They say that the car provides the most convenient form of transportation. Besides, a car is a comfortable way to travel, especially in winter. Finally, a driver is usually safe in his car when he is out at night.
Others, however, hold the opposite view. They say that there are many disadvantages to owning a car. For one thing, it can be very expensive to purchase and run a car. For another, owning a car can also cause worry and stress. It is exhausting to drive a car in heavy traffic. What is worse, cars are responsible for most of the smog in cities, which pollutes the environment seriously.
In spite of all the above mentioned, I still favor owning a car. The reason is that the car gives a person the freedom to schedule his own time. Though we are confronted with a problem of energy crisis, I am sure that the real solution will have to be a new kind of car, one that uses cheap, efficient fuel and does not contaminate the air.
